Research shows that most fatal fires occur in low status families and areas, however there is no reliable research available to suggest why.
It should be remembered that even Her Majesty, the queen has suffered from fire, the most publicised being the Windsor Castle Fire. Interestingly, Windsor Castle now has Fire Sprinklers installed as does Buckingham Palace

the historic Allerton Castle North Yorkshire had a fire which destroyed
the roof and first floor of the Grade 1 listed building, also during

lives of 1 adult and three children. Spencer-Fire estimate the cost of
fitting fire sprinklers in this property would be around £ 1400 only. A
cost of £ 350 per life lost!
