Where should sprinklers be located   Sprinkler Fact
Spencer-Fire receive many requests for information regarding the location of fire sprinklers. The short answer is only fit full systems.

Fire sprinklers are only activated by HEAT!. Each sprinkler is a heat detector and will only operate if a fire is present where the sprinkler is situated. Fitting a partial sprinkler is false economy. Most fires in domestic properties begin on the ground floor, so fitting sprinklers to a loft conversion alone, will not protect you, your family or your home.

Locating sprinklers to protect escape routes, e.g., stairs and hallways, is defeating the point of sprinklers. By the time the fire has reached the sprinkler, any occupants will be dead!

A fire sprinkler system should incorporate all rooms and areas that are used for habitation, storage or employment. Spencer-Fire even recommend fitting sprinklers in loft and attic spaces, to protect against electrical fires.

Spencer-Fire are happy to undertake a FREE site visit of your premises to establish where sprinklers should be located.

Please telephone 0845 408 1694 or email to arrange a site visit.

Fire sprinklers are even better than having a fire-fighter living in your home!. Sprinklers NEVER sleep and are guarding your home 24 hours per day, every day.

Sprinklers could be fighting a fire BEFORE you wake up and realise something is wrong.
