Training |
| Correct training in the use of fire
extinguishers is essential. Many places of work have mixed types of fire
extinguisher and with all extinguishers being the same colour, using the
wrong type may prove fatal.
Full Day & Two Hour Fire Safety Training Courses
The objective of each training session is to give staff all round knowledge of what to do in the event of a fire. Both full
day and two-hour courses are available. Spencer-Fire recommends a full day course for inexperienced personnel and those responsible as Fire Wardens,
and the two-hour course as a refresher or for experienced staff. The subjects covered include:
 |
What to do when
discovering a fire |
 |
How to raise the alarm |
 |
What actions to take
upon hearing the fire alarm |
 |
The correct procedure
for calling the Fire Service |
 |
Evacuation procedures,
including protecting disabled staff and visitors |
 |
The location and use of
fire extinguishers |
Specialist training will be given to highlight particular fire risks and methods of fire
fighting. These include instruction on the colour coding of fire extinguishers and which type is safe and appropriate to use depending on the fire
source and fuel load.
Every course is reinforced with either PowerPoint or Overhead projection
presentation As part of our training sessions, there are (subject
to weather etc), practical demonstrations during which delegates are able to participate in extinguishing a number of
different fires, using a range of different extinguishers.
Training can be arranged by calling Spencer-Fire on 0845 408 1694 or via
